HABER 800C4 gaff slooter - Pre-Owned

The HABER 800C4 is a unique, self-steering sailing yacht for sailing on lakes, coastal waters, and the open sea. The yacht is CE certified in category B – seagoing yacht. All of its features make it a unique and comfortable shallow-draft yacht.

The yacht has a spacious cabin with 5 berths, 1,90 m head room, a separate forepeak and a separate head with toilet and washbasin, a comfortable galley and a plenty of storage space in the lockers. All this ensures a level of comfort you will not find in other yachts this size.

The HABER 800C4 features a Gunter rig gaff rig in the slooter version, which provides a large sail area with a low mast. In this case, the yacht is equipped with a standard mainsail and jib, and a 16 m² genoa. The genoa extends from the bow to the top of the mast. Compared to the sloop version, the addition of a genoa significantly improves the yacht's performance in medium to light winds. The large bow anchor platform includes a stay and a waterstay. The yacht has headsail booms and prepared for a gennaker. The rigging is simple and very durable. One person is enough to raise and lower the mast.

The stability profile of the HABER 800 is very unusual – the yacht can righten itself from any heel, the 180-degree heel included. This is a so-called tumbler-toy effect. Auxiliary propulsion is provided by a 21hp YANMAR inboard engine.

The HABER 800C4 is equipped with a unique solution on a global scale – the C4 self-steering system. The four-centre (C4) system is an ideal instrument for both solo sailors and multi-person crews – regardless of their previous sailing experience. This system allows the yacht to achieve excellent course stability – including self-steering – on almost any course, regardless of wind strength or wave size.

C4 is a self-steering system that requires no electrical power and does not require the yacht to maintain course using the rudder, as is the case with a helmsman or autopilot.

The system allows the yacht to freely and fully cooperate with the wind and waves, utilizing the laws of physics. It helps the crew steer the yacht, especially in conditions where electronic autopilots fail. The system works with both the autopilot and wind vane.

Using a bow centerboard, the yacht is capable of sailing close-hauled under just a standard jib or just a storm jib.

Setting the yacht to self-steering takes from over a dozen to several dozen seconds. Two days of practice are enough to learn and understand how the C4 system works. More information can be found in the "Innovative Solutions" tab.

The yacht HABER 800C4 is very well equipped (yacht specification below), maintained in a very good condition. It has spent 5 years sailing on the Baltic Sea and the Vistula Lagoon. It is currently stationed at the marina in Elbląg.
