HABER 34C4 - PRE-OWNED
HABER 34C4 gaff cutter - Pre-Owned
The HABER 34C4 is a unique, self-steering ocean-going yacht, 34 feet in length with a draft of only 0.70 m. Design category A, a deck saloon offering the comfort and functionality of a 44-foot yacht. HABER 34C4 is built in a special One - Off technology without the use of moulds. It is an exceptionally durable yacht with a strong construction and excellent thermal insulation.
HABER 34C4 combines the proven tradition of HABER yachts (exceptional quality, plenty of living space, safety and durability) with modern know-how. This yacht surprises with its solutions, ranging from its large and functional cockpit to the deck layout where you can safely move, work or rest. The spacious interior gains additional functionality thanks to the spacious and practical galley, living space unmatched on comparable yachts, and the comfortable aft cabin. In the deck saloon there is a table for five and a steering position.
The typical HABER gaff sails, Gunter rig type, provides a large area of sails in combination with a low mast. The rigging is very durable. One person is enough to raise and lower the mast. Further more, the exceptional stability characteristics of the HABER 34C4 mean that it returns automatically from any position, even from the mast down position.
This HABER 34C4 is equipped with the C4 self-steering system as standard. The C4 is a self-steering system that does not require electricity, does not force the yacht to keep the course by moving the rudder (as a helmsman or autopilot does), but merely obeys the laws of physics. It decides when the yacht is windward or leeward, when it wants to luff or fall off, and when it will keep a steady course. Four boards - one bow, two stern and one main board use the laws of physics and make HABER 34C4 a yacht cooperating with any helmsman, autopilot or wind vane.
The C4 system allows the yacht to achieve excellent course stabilization – including self-steering – on almost any course, regardless of wind strength or wave size.
An example of the C4 system in use is in the attached link to a video of sailing on the HABER 660C4 on the Baltic Sea in 2023: https://youtu.be/lpg_gveSmg0
Using a bow centerboard, the yacht is capable of sailing close-hauled under just a standard jib or just a storm jib.
Setting the yacht to self-steering takes from over a dozen to several dozen seconds. Two days of practice are enough to learn and understand how the C4 system works. More information can be found in the "Innovative Solutions" tab.
Can you imagine a "butterfly" course, a full run, with a mainsail on one side and a jib on the other, and no one is at the helm, or a yacht with all sails down, sailing perfectly self-steering downwind? HABER 800C4 makes it possible - and this is only the beginning of a great adventure! The capabilities of a HABER yacht with the C4 system are demonstrated (using the HABER 800C4 as an example) in the video at the following link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=te2L6sJZfBA&list=PLF3lXphsTF-hBY2gRdfSn_fxnkGH_VYH4&index=3
We offer training in the use of a yacht with the C4 system upon request.
The HABER 34C4 yacht has been thoroughly tested at sea and has proven itself in light-to-stormy conditions. The yacht is very well equipped (yacht specification below), maintained in an excellent condition. It has spent 4 years sailing on the Baltic Sea. It is currently stationed at the HABER YACHTS shipyard.
